Shockingly bad for headphones made by Creative, a name I previously trusted without question. As in some other reviews, I bought these to replace my old, faithful Creative HS-300 headphones (and I was only replacing those because the ear pads had fallen off following years of use). I made the mistake of thinking that the HS-390 would be an upgrade compared to the HS-300. Bigger numbers equal new and improved products, right? WRONG.
Although the two products look very similar in thumbnail previews, the neckband on the HS-390 is terrible, designed to drop down the back of your head into the base of your neck. The result is that anytime you lift your head up the band digs into the back of your neck. Turn your head left or right while wearing these and the band rubs against your neck and gets caught in the collar of anything you might be wearing. This makes these headphones extremely uncomfortable, and the band hitting your neck shunts the earpads off your ears. Also the neckband itself is far too tight and pinches very uncomfortably against the sides of your head (and I dont have a particularly big head, and always found the HS-300 VERY comfortable).
In addition, the volume control and mute button is appalling. Cheap, plastic and nasty, the mute button is too small, hard to press and doesnt move without a silly amount of effort.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the sound quality is awful, very tinny, very low quality sound.
Basically, avoid these like the plague! Easily the worst headphones I have ever had the misfortune to put on my head (and the only product I have EVER returned to Amazon for a refund in years and years of purchases).

This is the second pair of these headphones Creative HS-390 Headset I have purchased and I use them for gaming and they work extremly well for this purpose. They are light and comfortable to wear
