I am often asked – “what’s the best USB condenser microphone for my home studio”? It’s a bit of a difficult question to answer really because so much depends on what you are wanting to record and what your budget is. Never-the-less I shall try to answer as best I can from my own personal experience. If you are like me and have a small bedroom studio and want something to record acoustic instruments and vocals then my number one choice has to be the Samson C01

It is very good value for money and much better quality than some mics that are three times it’s price. Sound wise it is  accurate with a rich, warm bass and extended top end. It is very sturdy and features a large 19mm Diaphragm Heavy Gauge Mesh Grill.

So if I was setting up my home studio again from scratch the Samson C01 would be number one on my list.
